And then he got down on one knee...

Hey hey pretty ladies! (And gents? But I don't think any read my blog..?)
I AM ENGAGED.
We brought board games into the mountains, played Scrabble and ate Greek Gyros in the back of my car, and then went back to one of my favorite locations in Washington..where the proposal took place. (Condensed version, of course. I look forward to telling you more when time permits me to do so!)
I said yes.
Well, actually.. I said, "We're getting married!!"
..and then I said "yes." :)

Truth.

"The more I reflect on the picture [the world] paints for us of how life is supposed to be, the more I want to rip that picture and let God paint us a new one."

A drive into the mountains.

Some mornings I just want to drive somewhere and not stop until I feel like it.
Exploring and adventuring  is one of the greatest pleasures in the world.
The other morning I called a friend (on the right) and we headed East, tea in hand.
The middle photo is the boyfriend, not in the mountains.
I've had a stack of math homework that's accumulated over the past three years,
and since I just finished my final math class EVER, we thought it was about time to burn all the stress away. Also one of the best feelings ever; free from it all!

Hello, Thursday.

My fish is blind.
...Cleo is a blind goldfish.
Funniest thing ever... slightly tragic, nonetheless highly entertaining.
Thank you, Thursday, for being spectacular.

Meet Cleo, My Goldfish

"Would you like a fish?"
"I love fish. Of course I'd like a fish!"
"Here. Take good care of her. Don't flush her. Her name is Cleo."
This is precisely how the conversation went!
A customer came into our craft store around 9pm, offered me a fish, and then left.
Is it terrible that the fist question I asked a co-worker was:
"How long can a goldfish go without eating?"
Scarf: Ben Franklin. Top & tights: Forever21. Shorts: Old Navy. Boots: Thrifted.
Happy Thanksgiving to you all! I hope your day is filled with good food, good plans, and great people.
I have so much to be thankful and grateful for.

Outfit post today! Coffee and flowers, no morning showers.

Yes, my dress possibly was a curtain at one point. The seamstress probably found out the material was much too comfy to be hugging a window, and thought it  to be more fitting for a human.
Just so you know, it's nearly a sin for Norwegians to not have fresh brewed coffee on a Saturday morning.
...Or is that just a Seattle thing?
Are you a coffee drinker? Did you start the day right with a cup or two?

Nomnomnom..

I love days that include doughnuts on study breaks.
The best bakery in the world is roughly an hour North-East of Seattle
(...about 2 minutes away from my abode).
If you're ever here, let me know.
I'd love to buy you a treat.

Old photos and po-police

Hello lovies! I do hope you've enjoyed your weekend.
Here's what happened to me:
I got pulled over for going 34 in a 25 zone.
Just before the stroke of midnight on 11/11/11, too.
I handed the officer all 10 expired licensed registrations from my car because I didn't know what to give him. I also had my insurance card in the same area of the car. But I didn't give him it because I thought it was expired too. The next morning I realized it wasn't.
Long story short, I got a $550 ticket for not having my insurance card.
(But I had it..I just didn't know it.)
The following night: I worked till midnight.
Guess what happened? I was pulled over again.
Do the cops have radars that are all out to get me?! I'm positive they do.
Thankfully, it was only a headlight that was out.
My dad's car when he was younger.
Isn't it darling? I would drive that in a heartbeat.
And there he is at the World's Fair (Expo '86) in Canada.
Stash and all. It was the 80's, I guess that's a good excuse.

Have you ever been pulled over?
Did you feel as silly as I did?

..Remember me?

A tad overdue, yes? Yes.
So here's the deal, life's hectic. I'd love to tell you more, but we'll sum it up with:
No, I have not fallen off the face of the Earth.
No, you probably didn't even realize I haven't posted in over a month.
Yes, I just found out my math class this quarter counts as an elective.
[No..not the class I actually needed.]
Yes, coffee is what sustains me these days.
Yes, it's getting chillier every.single.second.
And no, I will not sleep nor will I be productive with my time.
..That seems to be a reoccurring practice as of late.
Yes, that needs to change.
Yes, that will change tomorrow.
Thanks for this venting session. I appreciate you.
Just tasty.
Even more-so in a pie mixed with peaches.
One of the many reasons I love living in Washington. This champ and some others found berries in my back yard.
Another reason the Pacific Northwest is wonderful.

What have you all been up to?
Please fill me in, I'm terribly so out of it.

Wake up, o sleeper

Here's my advice:
Hike when it’s sunny and drink lots of water. Hand-write letters. Sit in a café and enjoy the atmosphere. Forgive quickly. Listen attentively. Live honestly. Revisit your childhood and enjoy art by going outside the lines. If you don’t own a library card, get one. Use it. If you hear a song and you like it, dance. Always remember that blowing bubbles takes less effort than typing on a keyboard. Let your running shoes kiss the sidewalk more than once every three months. Talk is cheap. Action begins with you taking the first step. Never forget that we were made to fellowship with others. ‘X’ out of facebook, quit watching Justin Bieber on youtube, hold the emails, and realize that you were born without a cell phone attached to your limbs. People are valuable, invest in them. Hearts are fragile, don’t mess with them. Don’t take God lightly. His watch doesn’t run by our biological clock. Take a step out of your comfort zone and get uncomfortable. Don’t rush life, savor it. Make friends with the elderly, they’re wiser than you. Your brain is larger than you realize, be open to learning. Travel the world. It’s bigger than you think. And never, ever, take the air your breath for granted. Life can vanish in an instant.

The State Fair

Hello loves, how has your week been? I've been at the fair quite a bit lately...
..eating scones.
...people watching.
...singing with OneRepublic.
... and gawking at the canned goods, wishing I was as good at life as the people who do this as a hobby.

Shoes: TOMS. Skirt: gift. Bag: thrifted. Sweatshirt: JCPenney.
What do you have planned this weekend?
What's you're favorite thing to do at the fair?

Go Fish

Today I went fishing.
Real-life fishing. I live in the beautiful Northwest,
so you would guess I'd have this accomplished sooner.
But no sir, today was a first.
Not even a stick and a worm!
My oh my, I've ventured that path many a time.
And let me tell you, I've caught quite a few handsome little vertebrates.
But today ...today was a day for the big dawgs.

These are the salmon I caught!
A big thanks to my father for taking me out, and to Jim, for letting us intrude his boat with him for the morning.

Highs and lows with Katie!

Aujourd' hui, I was in a hurry.

Top highs and lows today:
High(s):
Sunglasses mean sunshine. Three cheers for warmth.
Skype.
Free scones.
I have a creative kick going on right now..
..kickin' like nobodies biznezz. I'll tell you sometime.

Low:
Not one, not two, but THREE whole buttons fell off my pants today. I should have bargained more when I purchased them in the Philippines. Guess what? The buttons were glued. Looks like those sewing lessons from Great Grandma will come in handy tomorrow.

Truth.

Jesus is like a doctor.
Doctor's don't stay in business with healthy people.
He came for the sick.
Grace, compassion, mercy, forgiveness, and love.
I so badly want to be more like Jesus.
I want to love people like Jesus loves people.

Summer's been peachy..

An update of this past week in photos:

I got a new 50mm lens, and am L.O.V.I.N.G. it!
I also banked in on a new flash and tripod.
Coming soon: Wedding photos!
I just shot my second wedding...after telling others I never wanted to shoot weddings again.
After this, I may reconsider.
