Wedding photos, round one!

Our wedding party was a tad large... but a beautiful bunch of faces at that.
Pictured below is my cousin, Brad. We grew up together, and were always building forts, 4-wheeling through the fields, or making new inventions that we thought would sell. On Zach and I's wedding day, he not only contributed to this video, but he also kept me calm the entire morning. The instant I would panic about a small detail, he'd get right to it and have it taken care of. Or if I thought I had forgotten something, he would tell me he picked it up already, or would kindly remind me that I had it in my hands. Thank you, Brad, for your incredible support on my wedding day!
Our guest book in all it' glory.
My new family! (I gained seven sisters, four brothers, a niece and nephew, and two incredible in-laws!)
Just some beautiful sisters and a good-looking husband. :)
HE KNOWS ME. So well. He didn't get anything big or flashy, but he put an incredible amount of thought into the ring. The ring is based off a late 1800's vintage design, and refurbished in white gold. He told me after he proposed, "What I like most about this ring is the symbolism I connect it with. It represents how we were once old and made a new creation in Christ. This ring isn't very big, but it has a lot of detail. Katie, you have a lot of hidden detail, and I can't wait to figure it out with you for the rest of my life." Maybe I'm just bias, or in love, nonetheless- that still makes me melt.
Possibly one of the funniest parts of the day was when  Zach and his dad (also his best man), decided to perform the song My Little Buttercup. If you've ever seen the Three Amigos, you might catch onto this. They did an amazing job, and had me laughing the entire time.
One of my bridesmaid's, getting married at the end of December!
My grandma put on the pearls she wore at her wedding, I'm so grateful to have this photo!
A shout-out to all the amazing friends and family that put so much of their time into helping with food! You all are INCREDIBLE, and I owe you a world of thanks!
Round two coming soon! All these photos are taken by the talented Lauren. Check her out!

Cheers for cute brothers

It may seem like the month of October has gone by on a whim over here (it has), HOWEVER, here's a quick post about birthday month! My youngest brother-in-law just turned one, and I turned twenty! I entered a new decade, and he continued his first. Oh happy day!

Support art!

Hey everyone! If you are keen to art (or not at all, but delight in reading about it), consider purchasing this book! You'll be supporting my sister (one of the 100 artists in the book), AND will be getting a fresh perspective of what's happening in the Vancouver (Canada) area! Go ahead and spice up that coffee table of yours. Just be sure to get it within the next 6 days, so the goal can be met! Thank you for your time, and for the contribution you're about to make. :)

Totes on them Oat's

Oats? You don't like them?
Leave. Now. Just kidding.
If you've never fancied a fine cup of soluble fiber, then I urge you to try this.
My hope is that your opinion on this wondrous meal will change drastically.
(As in.. you make this every single morning for the rest of your life.)
Cinnamon Oatmeal
For one (large) serving, you will need:

1/2 Cup oats
1 Cup water
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 Cup cranberries
1/4 Cup or a small handful sliced almonds
1/2 Cup almond milk

-Bring water to a boil
-Add oats and cinnamon, stirring occasionally.
-Once oats are finished, add in the milk, cranberries and almonds.
-Indulge, be satisfied, and stay full!

Studying with an animal.

Studying in valley in the sunshine! Good, good day.
We read some books, ate some berries, and then a visitor came by to bite my toes!
..Really, he did. He was a cheeky one.
He is the oldest horse I have ever seen!

Pick up your phone and call someone you love this weekend

(Photo taken on our honeymoon)
Ladies! And gents? No gents read this.
Not even my husband. I haven't let him read my blog.
It's one of those 'surprise' things, you know?
Something that he can discover later.
I'm curious to know how many of you let your friends and family read your blog?
I think my mom is the only family member that reads/knows about my blog.
(Hi, mom.)
Anyways, cheers to another lovely day.
I hope you are all taking care of yourselves-
(I.e: consuming lots of popcorn, enjoying the last few weeks of summer weather, and treating yourself to copious amounts of nutella and rice cakes.)
Who am I kidding? I'm the only one eating nutella and rice cake ensembles.
I hope you're munching on french bread instead.

What I love about living with my husband: In 5.

1. Not having to say goodbye.
2. Going to school together.
3. Cooking! He actually eats it..
4. Living on a horse farm to work for rent.*
5. And, of course, he kills the spiders.
I am being taught patience, grace, and what it's like to be co-dependent.
Marriage is tough, but I'm so thankful it's with my best friend.
*More about this later.

And so I urge you...

This month, I challenge you to dare bigger,
dream larger, forgive quicker, and pray more audaciously.
You were meant for greater things.
Go. Do it.

Look who bought a bicycle!

Goldilocks. It was the name she was given, and I will honor it because it is fitting.
I'm thinking of taking that 'P' in Pacer, and making it an 'R'.
Thoughts? Am I being too conspicuous? 'Goldilocks the Racer.'
That's kinda weird. Never-mind.

Who's hitched? This kid!

Hey, hey! This is a bit late, but guess what? As of July 21st, I'm now Katie Day!
Thailand is where we are currently;
Immensely enjoying all this culture, green tea, and adventure.
Enjoy your day! We're going to the market later in the morning.

Counting down the days..

Every time I go back into work (which is practically every day at this point...), I get more and more marvelous advice about the upcoming wedding. The most recent talk: "Don't forget that the countdown also signifies starting your marriage. You're not only having a wedding, you know." Amen, sistah friend!

I can't get sick, I mustn't.

Brew well to be well!
Nasal infection? No thank you, please leave.
Vitamin C and tea? Yum, yum, gimme some!

Cheers.

10 day wedding count down begins NOW!
Today I am going to sit by the lake and talk with Zachary and Jesus.
With cereal. Because we love a good bowl of grains and milk. Holla.

Last day at my job before I get married

I couldn't have asked for a better last day at BFranks (Ben Franklin Craft & Frames)! My co-workers presented me with a surprise card, delicious cake, beautiful bouquet of flowers, and marvelous bunch of balloons. Working amongst the most amazing team at Ben Franklin since 2007 has been such a joy! Screaming kids with Santa photos, auditing until the wee 5:00 am hour during inventory week, paper cuts with scrapbooking, dropping candles with glass in floral, more than a few diva customers and exploding helium balloons at customer service; I wouldn't trade any of it for the memories that were made. Good conversations always, never a dull moment. Cheers!

Found it! My new globe.

I stopped in my tracks when I found this older globe at a thrift store.
Aged? Check. Stand? Gorgeous. Overall aura? Ravishing. Bam! Boom! Pow!
Purchased? Immediately. In the midst of wedding plans, it's nice to appreciate the little things.
