Some things people just don't get. I am one of those people.

Left photo: From husband's perspective (I'd like to think): If you're trying to impress me with an invisible hand puppet ... it's working.
Right photo: Flip your hair, they say. You'll look gorgeous, they say. (Yeah, could be. Or you'll look like a psychopath.)

Get with the program, K. The more you touch your hair, the frizzier it gets. Also, don't be alarmed, but the light fairy just swooped in front of the camera at the exact time the picture was taken. You now look like a Norwegian ghost.

Left photo: Quick, look adoringly into the distance and talk to Jesus.
Right photo: Make a "I just tooted" face, but pretend it's okay and say you look like Bob Marley.

 Note to self:
Attempted dreadlock turned out longer than the rest of your hair. Fix that ish out.
When someone tells you that you look like a gypsy from Indonesia, it's a good day.

Counting down the days..

Every time I go back into work (which is practically every day at this point...), I get more and more marvelous advice about the upcoming wedding. The most recent talk: "Don't forget that the countdown also signifies starting your marriage. You're not only having a wedding, you know." Amen, sistah friend!

Cheers for days off!

To do work. Outside of work.
Such as...wedding planning. :)
Two months away!

Awkward and Awesome

A day late! Oh well. Cheers!
Awkward:
-The smell of fish sauce. And oyster sauce. Where? In my hair.
-Telling a customer at work when she complimented my hair, "Actually, I stopped using shampoo three weeks ago. Let me tell you about it..." I go on to explain all the benefits, and how I go about the process. All the while, she stares blankly at me as if a human being couldn't possibly be anymore outrageous. (I'll update you guys on this topic soon.)
-Deciding I have no shoes that go with a specific outfit, and listening to Zach convince me to wear rain boots. So I wear my wellies, right? And then the sun makes an appearance and decides to stay a while. Guess who wishes she would have brought an extra pair of shoes?
Awesome:
-Bon Iver. Always beautiful.
-Deciding on a whim to purchase the next train ticket out to visit my sister in Vancouver, Canada.
-My wonderful sister finishing the front of our wedding invitations.
-My dearest friend Aubrie (talented graphic arts genius) beginning and finishing the back of the invitations, all in one sitting. They look so incredible.
-Watching a little boy get upset at his scooter, proceeding to pee on it.
-Homemade -Blackberry and peach pie.
-Slacklining. It's so challenging! I received one in December, but this last week has been the first time I've been able to test it out. And my-oh-my, all I can say is that I have a newfound respect for all tightrope walkers.
-Putting $1.00 into the machine for water. Pushing the 'coin return' button to get my money back, only to receive $1.25 back! Penny saved, penny earned. Winning.

Sweater and MJ. Nothing better.

Can I tell you a secret? I sometimes shop in the men's section.
T-shirts, sweaters, and wool socks? Helloooo jackpot!
THIS sweater, however, is my Fiances'.
It was rather frigid the other night, so he sent it home with me (as a gentleman should).
When the sun rose and I didn't have inspiration for much, I pulled that gem on.
The face? I may have been listening to a little too much MJ this morning...
It's my best expression of:
"Just beeeeat it, beat it! No one wants to be defeated.
Showin' how funky strong is your fight..."
Do yourself a favor and go listen to that song. Please.
Even better? Get up and dance.
100% guarantee it'll make your mood 200% better.

Scarf as a dress? YES.

Hello, hello! This weekend I decided to switch it up a bit.
-I put $40 of gas in the tank instead of the usual 20.
-Following that quote below, I started the process of a photography site. I will inform you of its 'whereabouts' soon. Thank you, Fiance, for contributing.
-And I wore a scarf as a dress. Also, another round of applause to my love, for purchasing it.

When in doubt, get the stripes out!

Do tell me, what is it that inspires you on a rainy day?
Green tea? A telephone call? Baking? Your cat? ..Baking your cat?
No, just kidding. I would never ...
..
Anyways.. awk. I hope you have a great day.

I don't think I've worn this much pink since my 5th birthday party

What is one to do when no one is home to take blog photos?
The kitchen counter and self timer begin to look mighty attractive.
Hello loves. I took up knitting an knitted this sweater.
Just kidding. I'm not nearly that talented.
Nor am I tidy. I took up knitting and lost a needle.
So now the scarf I'm creating is on hold, bless its cozy little wool.

Whoever said side ponies should've stay in the 90's?

Not this kid.
Yes, I am well aware I blend into my surroundings.
No, I did not plan to be a chameleon today.
I hope you're all doing well!
Do you have any plans this weekend?
Zach and I are going to some friends' cello concert before their family leaves back to Korea. The family is insanely talented, and I look forward to enjoying the beautiful sounds that will radiate from their instruments.

A drive into the mountains.

Some mornings I just want to drive somewhere and not stop until I feel like it.
Exploring and adventuring  is one of the greatest pleasures in the world.
The other morning I called a friend (on the right) and we headed East, tea in hand.
The middle photo is the boyfriend, not in the mountains.
I've had a stack of math homework that's accumulated over the past three years,
and since I just finished my final math class EVER, we thought it was about time to burn all the stress away. Also one of the best feelings ever; free from it all!

Hello, Thursday.

My fish is blind.
...Cleo is a blind goldfish.
Funniest thing ever... slightly tragic, nonetheless highly entertaining.
Thank you, Thursday, for being spectacular.

Meet Cleo, My Goldfish

"Would you like a fish?"
"I love fish. Of course I'd like a fish!"
"Here. Take good care of her. Don't flush her. Her name is Cleo."
This is precisely how the conversation went!
A customer came into our craft store around 9pm, offered me a fish, and then left.
Is it terrible that the fist question I asked a co-worker was:
"How long can a goldfish go without eating?"
Scarf: Ben Franklin. Top & tights: Forever21. Shorts: Old Navy. Boots: Thrifted.
Happy Thanksgiving to you all! I hope your day is filled with good food, good plans, and great people.
I have so much to be thankful and grateful for.

Outfit post today! Coffee and flowers, no morning showers.

Yes, my dress possibly was a curtain at one point. The seamstress probably found out the material was much too comfy to be hugging a window, and thought it  to be more fitting for a human.
Just so you know, it's nearly a sin for Norwegians to not have fresh brewed coffee on a Saturday morning.
...Or is that just a Seattle thing?
Are you a coffee drinker? Did you start the day right with a cup or two?

What I wore

These posts hardly ever make an appearance,
but I'll do it more often if you'd like.
Simply put: I'm thrilled summer is almost here.
Even if the sun is only playing games right now.

Rafe Martin quote!

I dread what Tyra would say about these poses/facial expressions. Especially face numero dos.
Thank goodness I have no intentions of becoming a model.
AND, despite what it looks like, I do have shoes on.
Scarf: gift. Belt & skirt: Forever21. Tights: Kohls. Cardigan: thrifted.

“If imagination is possibility, a starved imagination implies a pinched, starved, and diminished life; a trapped and truncated one. We suffer from lack of imagining.” –Rafe Martin

It makes me think.

Groundhog Day is a joke!

...Because when I woke up today, the weather told me spring will be taking an extra vacation.
It's still freezing.
However, the sun was shining, and I was encouraged by it's beams.

Scarves: Blue) Philippines. White) Egypt. Mittens: local craft store. Dress: Philippines. Coat: Ann Taylor Loft. Tights: Kohls. Socks: Macy's. Boots: Love Culture.

Have a glorious Tuesday evening, everybody! Mine will be spent with the textbooks.
