Love. Unselfish, benevolent concern for other persons (1 Cor. 13:4-7).
To love God supremely and to love others unselfishly are the two most important commands of Jesus (Matt. 22:37-40). This is why Jesus' sacrificial death was such.a.huge.deal.
The most selfless act, yet also the most heroic.
We don't deserve it.
So why did he choose to do it?
Because Love is a name. God's name.
It's what he's all about.
... And the best part is, he wants every individual to experience it.
